Support for a house of childhood
For over four years, one of our partner associations “Gablitz hilft” has been running a children’s home in the Syrian refugee camp Atama. Around 250 children have been able to play, learn, sing and listen to stories there – and receive a hot meal every day.
But the situation in the camp has worsened dramatically: there is a lack of water, garbage is no longer being disposed of and the authorities are considering closing it down. This would mean that the children would lose their only protected place.
The solution: the children’s home is to move from the camp to the home town of many families – Kafar Aweed. A new place of security is being created there: for children between the ages of two and six who have only ever known war, hardship and confinement. The new GAataMO children’s home is due to reopen this fall.
We, the Caravan of Humanity, are supporting this project with 4,620 euros. Because we are convinced that every child has the right to protection, education and a carefree childhood.
A total of 80,000 euros is needed for the land, construction and equipment. Around 50,000 euros have already been financed – but 30,000 euros are still needed to make the dream a reality.
Help children to play, laugh and learn again and donate online here for the children in the Atama refugee camp (purpose: “Bau Kinderhaus”)
