A very special tradition of the Caravan of Humanity is the letters and drawings that schoolchildren from Austria and Germany give us to take with us on our journey.
When we report on the projects of the Caravan of Humanity, we often see the interactions, the clown shows, the art rooms, or the distribution of relief supplies.
We are learning about the dire situation facing many Sudanese refugees in Egypt. Since the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023, millions of people have been forced to flee.
Once again this year, a special project close to our hearts on this trip is the “Mobile Art Studio,” which was organized with great dedication by Till Schilling.
We are incredibly grateful that, once again this year, a wonderful team from “Clowns ohne Grenzen e.V.” is part of our project.
Now that the handover of 25 metric tons of in-kind donations to our partner organizations on Lesbos has been successfully completed, the caravan is now continuing on to Egypt.
Some encounters last a lifetime: During our very first Karawanen project, we met Nikos and Katherina from Home for All on Lesbos.
Today we’d like to introduce you to “Collective Aid”—the organization on Lesbos with which we work closely to distribute our in-kind donations.
Our two trucks carried a total of 25,000 kg of in-kind donations—packed into an incredible 2,112 banana crates.
