After deportation: Family A fights for survival in Nigeria
Over a year ago, family A was deported from Kempten in a cloak-and-dagger operation – after 8 years in Germany. The family was fully integrated: they had an apartment and the father worked as a salesman. The four children went to school as normal, cultivated friendships and were firmly rooted in Germany. Nigeria is foreign to them, they don’t know the language. It is no longer possible for them to attend school in Lagos because school fees are unaffordable.
The family has lost everything as a result of the deportation: Housing, income, education, prospects. They now live in makeshift accommodation without electricity or water. The mother urgently needs medication, but there is no money.
But there is hope: the parents want to open a small snack bar in Lagos. The costs for training and getting started are low – but unfortunately unattainable for them at the moment.
We at the Caravan have already supported them with €1,500, but we want to help even more together with you: The aim is for the family to be able to stand on their own two feet again. The parents want to open a small snack bar in Lagos to earn a regular income and the four children can then go back to school. With our help, the family can build a future for themselves – every support counts!
