An extraordinary aid project: the caravan in Cuba

In February 2024, the two Karawanis Bruno & Pascal traveled to Cuba to help people there who are on the edge of their existence. In the last two years, one million Cubans have fled their country!

One of the main reasons is the complete collapse of tourism in the coronavirus era. And even now, when the pandemic is fortunately only a sad shadow of the past, Cuba has been unable to recover from this massive crisis. However, tourism is by far the biggest employer and foreign currency earner on this island, and thousands of people no longer have a livelihood.

Many of you may be wondering why the caravan is carrying out an aid project in Cuba of all places? The explanation is simple: besides their love of photography, Bruno and Pascal have one thing in common: as full-time lecturers, they both made a living for years giving travel lectures about this socialist Caribbean island. And now that many Cubans no longer know how they are going to get through the next month, the two Karawanis felt it was important to give something back from their professional success in recent years and support these people.

The aid project in Cuba includes the promotion of five social projects, all of which serve to combat the causes of flight locally and to create prospects for the people still living there in their own country.

Over the next few weeks, we will be telling you in detail what Bruno and Pascal experienced during their aid mission and what exactly the projects look like!
