Support at eye level brings lasting change

What particularly moved Bruno on this trip: The importance of encounters, listening and changing perspectives. Many of the images we hear in the West about Afghanistan – e.g. about the role of women, security, people’s everyday lives – are not true.

Once again, it was confirmed that there is no simple “one truth”. It became clear once again how important it is to involve the people you want to help and to understand their life issues and needs.

People like Khazan Gul, Telawad and many families we met live with great hospitality, with courage and hope and with a sense of responsibility for their community. They want to make their own decisions and shape their own lives. They need support – but not one-sided help from outside, but genuine partnership. And we, as the Caravan of Humanity, want to do just that: Build bridges, connect, support – at eye level. Only then can the help be accepted by the people affected and ultimately continued in order to have a lasting effect.

If you have followed our projects so far and would like to continue to support us, please share these stories, tell others about them – and if possible: support us so that projects like the solar well construction can continue to grow. You can find out where your donations go and how they are used in our donation transparency.

Here is the detailed project report from Afghanistan by our Karawani Bruno for you to read.
