Happy, relieved & exhausted - that's how you can describe the current mood of the Karawani team in Cyprus. Because today the truck finally arrived with all our donations in kind!
Cyprus has the highest number of asylum seekers per capita in Europe, but state support for the stranded refugees is mostly non-existent.
While we are working on our new aid project here in Cyprus, our thoughts are often with our project partners and friends in Lebanon, just 200 km away.
Our Karawanis arrived safely in Cyprus today and are already looking forward to an exciting time with many moving encounters on site so that they can provide the best possible help.
Yay, we did it again - thanks to you: 9 tons of donations in kind packed in 768 banana boxes with clothes, diapers, hygiene articles, school materials, etc.
Now that all our collection points have closed again, we would like to say a big thank you for your wonderful support!
Our sorting center is in Güssing, where a wonderful Karawani team looks at every single donated item, sorts it according to type and size and finally packs it.
Peter Beinscherer and his wonderful team from "PCs for all" have provided us with 50 PCs for our aid campaign in Cyprus and north-east Syria. Many thanks for that!
