Summary of Our Aid Project in Rojava

Our relief mission in Rojava, in northeastern Syria, took place several months ago. Even today, we continue to receive messages from schoolchildren who are delighted with their new school supplies. This shows us that our support has reached its destination and continues to make a difference.

Here is an overview of how we provided support on the ground:

  • 12,350 kg of in-kind donations on 30 pallets were transported to Rojava by truck. The donations included school supplies and toys, clothing, sleeping bags, wheelchairs, diapers, computers, and much more. The relief supplies were distributed to refugee camps, children’s homes and orphanages, a maternity ward, as well as local organizations and educational institutions, among other places.
  • 2,000 euros were used to fund food distributions in Kobane.
  • 1,598 euros were donated to our partner organization, Hiro, for the distribution of blankets.
  • The Syrian Women’s Council received 3,000 euros for computer training projects, thereby promoting education and new opportunities for women.

Even after our aid mission has ended, we continue to monitor developments in Rojava. Our friends report instances of oppression and attacks against the Kurdish population and religious minorities. In particular, the situation of women and the preservation of their hard-won rights remain important issues.

The future of Rojava remains uncertain. This makes it all the more important for us to continue supporting our partners on the ground and to advocate for peaceful coexistence as well as for human rights and women’s rights.

Thank you to everyone who made this relief effort possible with their monetary and in-kind donations!
