Laughter as the Language of Humanity

We are incredibly grateful that, once again this year, a wonderful team from Clowns ohne Grenzen e.V. is part of our project. Together, in cooperation with the UNHCR, we were able to organize several clown shows for refugee children from Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Syria, and other countries.

The clown troupe led by Anita, Sonja, and Max—aka Kushari, Falafel, and Tahini—creates moments that are hard to put into words. In this way, we help people not only with donations of goods and money, but also with something that is often just as important: joy, lightheartedness, and human connection.

With many children in particular, you can tell that they’ve had to go through things during their flight that no child should ever have to experience. That makes these moments of shared laughter, carefree joy, and connecting on an equal footing all the more precious. For a brief moment, life can be light—and simply being a child can take center stage.

These clown shows have long since become a key pillar of the Karawane projects. After all, aid isn’t just about providing supplies; above all, it’s about emotional support, humanity, and hope.

Thank you to“Clowns ohne Grenzen e.V.”for your tireless efforts, and thank you to all the supporters who make moments like these possible.
