Introducing Our Partner Organization on Lesbos
Today we’d like to introduce you to “Collective Aid”—the organization on Lesbos with which we work closely to distribute our in-kind donations.
In this video, Robyn and Nick, the two managers of Collective Aid, talk more about their day-to-day work, the situation on the ground, and why our in-kind donations are so important right now.
One special place where they work is “Parea”—a small oasis for refugees on Lesbos. Together with other organizations, Collective Aid is creating a safe space there where people can receive more than just clothing and hygiene supplies at so-called “Free Shops.”
“Parea” is also a place for people to meet and feel at home: Here, people can drink tea or coffee, eat together, make music, repair bicycles, garden, or receive medical, psychological, and legal support.
This is exactly where our in-kind donations arrived and are now being distributed among several organizations. Our team was particularly moved by the great joy expressed on site at the high quality and careful sorting of the donations. It shows just how much dignity and appreciation can be found even in small details.
