Colorful Thoughts
Every day, the Karawanis—Anja, Martin, and Mirna—create a safe space where children who have experienced displacement can simply be children. At large easels, they can let their imaginations run wild—without judgment, without pressure, and without any notions of “right” or “wrong.”
For many of the children, this is the first time they’ve been allowed to freely experiment with colors, brushes, and paper. This not only results in colorful pictures, but often also in moments of inner peace, joy, and lightness. Hidden thoughts are allowed to come to the surface, and new, positive thoughts find a place to take root. 🎨✨
Especially for children who, while fleeing, had to go through many things that no child should ever have to experience, these creative sessions are something truly special—and for many, a real highlight of their lives so far.
Thank you to everyone who makes these precious moments possible.
