A Warm Reunion with “Home for All”
Some encounters last a lifetime: During our very first Karawanen project in the fall of 2020, we met Nikos, his wife Katherina, and their colleague Arja from Home for All on Lesbos—and were deeply impressed by their work with refugees.
More than five years later, after working on projects in twelve countries, our path led us back to Lesbos. That’s why our reunion with Nikos, Katherina, and Arja was such a special and very warm one.
It was especially wonderful to see the new projects that “Home for All” has launched in the meantime: Together with people from Syria, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and many other countries, something truly special is taking shape on a five-hectare farm.
There, high-quality olive oil is produced from ancient, endemic olive varieties—not only as a food product, but above all as a way to create jobs, prospects, and new opportunities for the future for refugees.
And now for some great news: There are already concrete plans for this special olive oil to be available in Vienna soon.
