A clown, a unicycle and 100s of refugee children
Something magical happens in the middle of a refugee camp in Lebanon: a young clown on a unicycle rides through the dusty paths smiling – behind him a crowd of cheering children who accompany him with bright eyes and loud cries of joy.
His name is Clown Abbas. Thanks to our veteran clown Anita and the Clowns Without Borders network, this magical encounter was made possible and Abbas is now part of the Caravan of Humanity.
It was clear from the very first moment: this man is passionate about his mission. With humor, empathy and impressive skill, he became a highlight of all our clown performances. His unicycle in particular was the big star – it became a symbol of lightness, movement and unstoppable joie de vivre.
At the grand finale of the clown shows, he rode away on his unicycle – followed by a wave of children’s laughter and joy. A moment that gave us all goosebumps.
In a world that often consists of hardship, flight and uncertainty, it is precisely these moments that give hope – and a smile that lasts.
Thank you Abbas. Thank you to our clowns. Thank you to everyone who makes this caravan possible.
