Syria: Distribution of relief supplies for refugee flows

In recent weeks, thanks to the efforts of our Karawani Rainer in Raqqa and Tabqa (Syria), we have been able to provide urgently needed aid together with the “Organization Office” of the Kurdish self-administration. More than 3 tons of relief supplies – including blankets, sleeping bags, tents and hygiene articles – were distributed directly to the incoming stream of refugees from the area around Aleppo.
The children who are particularly suffering under these terrible circumstances should not be forgotten: With 2,000 soft toys, we were able to give them a little smile and a spark of joy in the midst of war and flight.

Unfortunately, we had to leave Raqqa due to the security situation, but our aid continues: the remaining relief supplies have been stored in the city of Quamishli and are now being distributed to those in need together with the NGO “Hiro”. Hiro is run by Taha Khalil and works together with Austrian Volkshilfe, among others – we look forward to future joint projects to support the Kurdish people in these difficult times.

Special thanks go to “PCs for all” for the donated computers, which we were able to pass on to local schools, orphanages and aid organizations. We would also like to thank Tobias from “Liebe im Karton e.V.” for his generous donation of eight pallets of relief supplies and the “Together-Verein” for their great support once again!

And of course a huge thank you to all our donors who make our help on the ground possible – you are amazing!
