Cuddly toys as companions for children at camp

Around 16,000 Syrians who have been displaced from their home town live in the huge Washokani refugee camp in north-eastern Syria. Among them are thousands of children who, despite – or perhaps because of – their circumstances, we have found to be cheerful, open-minded and interested.

And above all, they were extremely grateful. We were able to present the children with cuddly toys that will accompany them in their everyday lives at the camp in the future. The children’s eyes lit up, everyone smiled at us and there were often warm hugs to say thank you. For these children, a cuddly toy is something very special, because they really don’t have anything like it in their tent home.

Thank you for enabling us to bring lasting joy to so many children with your donations!
